Rachel is a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with a wealth of knowledge and experience including a Diploma of Manipulative Therapy, PINC & STEEL Cancer Rehabilitation Certification, Lymphoedema Certification and Polestar Pilates and DMA Clinical Pilates training.
Rachel has recently completed postgraduate papers in Māori Health Advancement & Qualitative Research Methods.
Rachel has spent the last sixteen years of her career dedicated to improving outcomes for people affected by cancer.
As an Oncology & Lymphoedema Physiotherapist her work is grounded in a holistic approach to health & wellbeing including exercise as medicine. Rachel is passionate about Māori Health and equity-led solutions in cancer rehab. Her knowledge and leadership skills see her involved in cancer rehab advocacy, implementation and research.
Rachel has recently returned to Wellington from Hawke’s Bay where she owned and operated a Physiotherapy & Pilates clinic. Highlights of her mahi in Hawke’s Bay include: implementing a Lymphoedema prevention program for breast cancer, delivering PaddleOn for CanTeen youth and piloting a PINC & STEEL Outreach service in Wairoa.
Rachel is based in Petone, at the Manuka Health Centre.
