Lymphoedema Therapy
Complex lymphoedema therapy (CLT) is a conservative non-invasive therapy that aims to prevent lymphoedema progression, reduce oedema and maintain improvements. CLT also aims to alleviate associated symptoms, prevent cellulitis, and improve function and quality of life.
Components of CLT include:
manual lymphatic drainage massage to enhance lymphatic flow and drainage
compression therapy to reduce limb size/volume and improve subcutaneous tissue consistency
exercise/movement to enhance lymphatic and venous flow
skin care to optimise the condition of the skin
adjunct therapies can be used to compliment CLT where appropriate
education occurs throughout all phases of CLT
At arc we have 2 qualified lymphoedema trained therapists who are passionate about providing a holistic evidenced based approach to lymphoedema management.
